Data that Informs Outreach

We pride ourselves on the most up-to-date research on Hispanic / Latino farmers in the Southeast United States and the Caribbean. Our reports offer a wide-ranging analysis of key indicators, among others, demographic information and farming characteristics of Hispanic / Latinos in the region, including comparisons with the United States and state averages. The data analysis and findings guide the Hispanic Farmer Outreach Program to establish a baseline that defines a successful outreach strategy to connect socially disadvantaged Hispanic farmers and operators with USDA agricultural programs.

Some of the most significant agricultural census indicators to be considered may include the size of farm operations (location and number), commodities, age, and gender of producers. Additional U.S. Census Data will be collected including (but not limited to) race and ethnicity, income, education, poverty, and disability status.
